Ranlytics announces that it is partnering with Urbaser Nordic AS and Connect44 ApS to commence saturation mobile coverage measurement and mapping in Scandinavia on the island of Gotland in Sweden.

All Urbaser waste collection vehicles operating on Gotland will be equipped with Ranlytics LURA radio measurement devices to accurately and frequently measure every Telia, Telenor, Tele2, and Tre 3G, 4G & 5G network at every address on the island.  At the lowest unit cost in the industry.

The resulting mobile coverage maps will be the most accurate and up-to-date available, anywhere in Scandinavia.

Every coverage hole and area impacted by poor or unreliable coverage will be accurately identified and located.

Ranlytics aims to accurately and regularly map coverage of every mobile network, at every street address in Sweden.  And beyond.

Ranlytics’s coverage maps are available to mobile operators, telecommunications regulators, government agencies and authorities, and to commercial users that rely on mobile coverage for business operations, IoT sensors, smart city and farming initiatives, mobile-equipped vehicles, etc

Understanding mobile coverage and quality at individual street level has been a long-held goal of the telecommunications industry globally.  But the cost, complexity, and reliability problems associated with legacy measurement equipment has prevented this goal from being achieved.  The industry has had no alternative but to rely on sampling and prediction models, and poor-quality crowd sourced data.  The inevitable result has been incomplete understanding of coverage & quality; mobile networks that can’t be fully optimised; an inability to identify the location and extent of coverage holes, and areas impacted by compromised coverage; insufficient information to determine root causes of coverage issues; and of course, inaccurate coverage maps.

Ranlytics’s solution combines LURA automated radio measurement devices installed on fleet vehicles with a comprehensive suite of data processing and analytics capabilities to fully address these long-standing problems, and to provide the industry with definitive engineering-grade radio measurement data that is more accurate, more frequently updated, and more readily usable than any alternative source of information.

We call this saturation mobile coverage measurement, and it provides unprecedented insight into the performance of mobile and public safety networks, and accurately identifies which operator provides the best coverage at every address.

Replace interpolation, desktop predictions and poor-quality crowd sourced data with definitive engineering grade mobile coverage and quality measurement data, at individual address level.  Design, deploy and optimise networks faster and more efficiently, and identify black spots and areas of compromised coverage quickly to improve customer satisfaction and retention.
